Why Sri Lanka Cricket Council Board Suspended

The ICC Board concluded during its meeting on Friday that Sri Lanka Cricket has committed serious violations. Its membership obligations, including “the need to oversee its affairs independently. And guarantee that the government does not intervene in the regulation, administration, or governance of cricket in Sri Lanka.
” The conditions of the ban will be decided by the ICC. The board is scheduled to convene on November 21. However, more information about the next steps is expected to be released after this meeting.
Sri Lanka’s sports minister dismissed the whole cricket board on Monday and replaced them with an interim committee chaired. In addition to two politicians’ sons, it was signed by World Cup champion Arjuna Ranatunga.
The courts overturned this temporary committee on Tuesday and reinstalled the previous board.
