New names have been selected for the positions by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Shortly after Babar Azam resigned as captain of all formats.

In a formal declaration, the board declared that Shan Masood will captain the Test team, and Shaheen Shah Afridi will head the Twenty20 team.
It stated that a choice about the ODI captain will be made at a later time.
In the most recent reorganization, Mickey Arthur has been replaced as director of cricket by former cricketer Mohammad Hafeez.
Although Babar Azam resigns as Pakistan’s captain, he will still play in all three forms.
Babar Azam of Pakistan affirms: “I am resigning from my position as Pakistan’s captain in all forms. Although I think this is the ideal time for this call. It’s a tough decision. I will carry on playing in all three formats for Pakistan. My purpose here is to assist the team and the new captain.”
Although he will no longer be captain of Pakistan, Babar Azam has declared that he will still play in all three forms.
The 29-year-old made his statement following Pakistan’s underwhelming 2023 ODI World Cup campaign. In which they won four out of nine games and were unable to advance to the semifinals.

Shan Masood, a batsman, was elected the Test captain by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). while Shaheen Afridi was designated the T20I captain. Following the widely reported departure of Babar Azam as the captain of Pakistan in all three formats.
A few hours ago, Babar Azam announced that he was resigning from his role as Pakistan’s captain for every format.
In all three formats, Azam captained Pakistan starting in October 2019. He contributed to the squad’s first-ever World No. 1 position in May’s ICC One Day International (ODI) rankings.
Babar Azam resigned as Pakistan’s captain for all formats a few days after his country was eliminated from the World Cup. After Pakistan lost five of their nine games, including a devastating loss to Afghanistan, doubts were raised about Babar’s ability to lead.
Sarfaraz Ahmed was apparently one of the contenders for Test captain. But people close to him cautioned against accepting the position. Because of how difficult the Australia Test tour would be for a new captain.
It was also possible to consider Imad Wasim, who is currently training at the National Cricket Academy. Imad made a successful comeback to the national team earlier in PSL 8, where he now often plays for the T20I squad.
He also did a great job for the Jamaica Tallawahs in the latest Caribbean Premier League in the West Indies, home of the future T20 World Cup. He and the PCB chief are scheduled to meet shortly.
In the meantime, Babar Azam promised to back the new captain wholeheartedly in a passionate letter posted. On X, formerly Twitter, stating he will continue to play for Pakistan in all three formats.
