Navigating the highs and lows of cricket: Azam Khan and Saim Ayub's journey under scrutiny, with insights from cricket experts."
Former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja has delivered a cautionary message to Azam Khan and Saim Ayub on their recent performances in the ongoing five-match series against New Zealand.
Azam has not had much success with the bat, scoring two and ten in the first two games and scoring just 19 runs in his six career innings. Saim Ayub failed to make an impression in the second match, being removed for 1 run from 3 balls, despite having an excellent start in the first match where he was sadly run-out after scoring 27 in 8 balls.
Ramiz Raja voiced his worries on his YouTube channel, emphasising that these players’ hit-and-miss strategy is unsustainable.
“New players have come into the team based on their strike rates. Using a miss-and-hit strategy is not viable for the entire team, regardless of Saim Ayub or Azam Khan. this are fantastic batting conditions, so you need to work even harder since situations like this don’t come along very often, Raja stated.
Following a string of losses for the Men in Green, Adam Hollioake, Pakistan’s batting coach, spoke with reporters about Azam Khan’s performance. He says he thinks Azam will be a great player in the future and that he can have a big influence.

“Azam Khan is an extremely potent batter.” I mean, regrettably, he in tonight and left right away because he had to go. It’s one of those things that looks fantastic when it works and foolish when it doesn’t. Despite not displaying it in these two games, he is a big hitter and an interesting player. Adam predicted that he will succeed in the future.
Concerns Raised Over Azam Khan and Saim Ayub’s Performances in Ongoing Series.
The way that Azam Khan and Saim Ayub have been playing in the current series against New Zealand looks to have drawn criticism. Their hit-and-miss approach has drawn criticism from former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja, who claims the team cannot continue to rely on it. He underlined the need of working hard, particularly when the bat is in your favour.
Pakistan’s batting coach, Adam Hollioake, has defended Azam Khan, calling him a very strong hitter. Hollioake conceded that while the hit-and-miss approach can seem brilliant in theory, in practice it can look ridiculous. He projected Azam Khan’s future success and voiced confidence in his ability despite his previous problems.
It’s not uncommon for young players to suffer ups and downs in their performances, and coaches typically emphasise the significance of learning from experiences and working hard to develop. How these players mature and eventually benefit the club remains to be seen.
