The newly revealed Men’s T20I Team of the Year 2023 for the International Cricket Council (ICC) did not include a single player from Pakistan.
Eleven players from around the world who excelled in 2023 at batting, bowling, or all-around were acknowledged by the top cricket authority.
Suryakumar Yadav, the 2022 ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year, will captain the team, which also includes Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, three of his fellow countrymen.
Jaiswal and Phil Salt of England were selected as the openers.
While Salt concluded the year with 394 runs in just eight innings, averaging 56.28 and striking at 169.09, the youthful Indian opener, who made his debut in August 2023, amassed 430 runs in 14 innings with a strike rate of 159.
Nicholas Pooran, a hard-hitting batsman from the West Indies, was ranked number three. Yadav, the captain, was ranked number four and led the team last year when Rohit Sharma was not playing.
Mark Chapman, the top run scorer in Twenty20 Internationals in 2023 for New Zealand, came in fifth on the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year 2023, with Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe coming in at number six.

Two more all-rounders are included in the lineup: Mark Adair of Ireland and Alpesh Ramjani of Uganda, ranked seven and eight, respectively.
In 30 matches, Uganda’s Ramjani amassed 55 wickets at an economy rate of 4.77, which topped the globe in T20I wickets. He also proved to be a formidable opponent for bowling attacks, hitting 449 runs at a strike rate of 132 down the order.
In 2023, Adair established himself by grabbing 26 wickets at an economy rate of 7.42, or one wicket per 13 deliveries.
The bowling attack will be completed by Zimbabwe’s Richard Ngarava, India’s Ravi Bishnoi, and another Indian, Arshdeep Singh.
In 2023, Arshdeep took 26 wickets in 21 innings for India, while Bishnoi claimed 18.
